Chaka Powell

From a young age, her heart beat with compassion, and her dedication to community welfare was ignited through active involvement with non-profit organizations. In 2008, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism on a full academic scholarship from the University of Kentucky, marking the start of her media and public engagement journey.

In 2010, she moved to Cincinnati, OH, taking a pivotal role in the gospel music industry as Marketing and Promotions Director for I Hear Music, Inc., expanding the company's reach nationwide. In 2016, she ventured into political campaigns, leveraging her effective messaging and community outreach expertise to connect with constituents.

​

Today, as Community Engagement Director and Scheduler for a prominent OH-1 Congressional Candidate, she continues her mission of bridging leadership and the community. She focuses on building trusted media relationships and successfully assisting organizations with media outreach in major markets in Ohio and beyond. Her indomitable spirit and commitment to community upliftment shine brightly in every chapter of her inspiring journey, leaving an indelible mark on society's tapestry.

Celeste Treece

Celeste Treece is a highly-accomplished political strategist from Cleveland, Ohio. After graduating with her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Cincinnati, she established CommEN Strategies - a minority women-owned consulting firm specializing in community engagement. She has directed various campaigns ranging from state to county and local levels.

Celeste's advocacy has been instrumental in promoting policy change, as evidenced by Issue 7, increasing funding for Metro transit organization and creating a local source of infrastructure money for local municipalities. Columbus issue 1 aggregated energy.  

​

Currently, the focus lies on Environmental Justice initiatives such as Leading the charge of Cincinnati police gun range removal & Advocacy and education on Bipoc environmental issues. She founded AG Noire BIPOC Urban Farming Association, uniting farmers for advocacy while nurturing real relationship-building.
